The pure joy of creating a piece of art from a blank sheet of paper is my passion, and I hope you will enjoy these pastels as much as I did when painting them.
I am a seeker of the peaceful moment, an unspoiled sandy beach, a quiet walk in the woods. The closer look at a beautiful bloom inspires me to translate the folding shades of color, to stop time forever, on paper. The pastel medium is an immediate pleasure to an impulsive artist.
I am an ex-New Yorker who moved to Kauai in the early 80's, with my camera, flute and oil box, unsure of my future but ready for a change. Since then I’ve had a family, played many gigs, and discovered pastels! I belong to several Pastel societies and art guilds, exhibit in juried shows and paint "en plein air" as much as I can. The pursuit of excellence in pastel is a continuing journey that I would like to share with you.

November is Here
This has been quite an eventful year, not in a good way but it is life as we know it.
I have been more committed to painting and have increased my studio output and my outside painting time. Putting up another outdoor studio at my cottage for weekends and with no place to swim or hike, I spend more time creating.
I am doing more teaching and am open to new locations for travelers that have a lovely view at their location.
If you have an idea for a Christmas gift, now is the time to contact me. I can make gift certificates, and custom painting commissions.
November 12, is my Celebration of Life for my husband Michael. It will be at my Studio from 5-7pm, he would have been 71, and we would have celebrated 39 years married.I miss him every day.
Sincerely,
Helen
